ALPHA COURSE
STARTS THIS WEEK
Over 15 million
people worldwide have now attended an Alpha course, an
opportunity to explore the meaning of life, running in tens of
thousands of churches of all denominations across the
world.
Bear Grylls, who
personally has done the Alpha course, said "the Christian faith is
the backbone of my life".
The Grove Community Church is hosting
the Alpha Course which begins this week. Session 1 is held at
the Upper Kedron Hall on Cedar Creek Rd, Upper Kedron at 7.30pm.
Everyone is welcome to come and check out the session and then
decide if you would like to go on and do the whole
course.
The course goes for 10 weeks and
topics covered include:
Who is Jesus?
Why did Jesus die?
How can we have faith?
Why and how do I pray?
Where and how should I read the
bible?
How does God guide us?
Who is the The Holy Spirit and what
does he do?
Does God heal today?
How can I make the most of the rest
of my life?
A typical night at Alpha runs
like this:
Start with a light supper, watch the DVD
session from England's Nicky Gumbel, then break up for discussion
in a cafe style.
Alpha deeply values repect and
acceptance of people and the importance of having a safe place to
discuss issues of faith together
