Flourish 2011

Flourish 2011

But I am like a flourishing olive tree in the house of God…(Psalm 52:8)

We believe 2011 is a year where God wants us to flourish at The Grove in our relationship with him, and our influence for him, like never before. Here are some opportunities right at the start if a new year:

E100 Challenge

Many wonder how the bible fits together. E100 is the essential 100 readings in the bible that bring the whole story together. Whether you've read the bible many times, are familiar with some parts, or have never read it before, you are welcome to join us on this exciting quest in 2011 (a Scripture Union resource). We pray many will take part in the challenge as God's story transforms our stories.

Small Groups

Life change happens best when life touches life. Studying the bible and discussing its relevance with others for today, has always been used powerfully by God to grow us as people and bring encouragement and hope to our lives. We pray many would join a group which will also enhance the E100 challenge.

Pathways

A 7 week course for those wanting to explore the essentials of Christian faith. Pathways enables participants to grapple with the big questions about life and God, while also explaining how a person begins and grows in a relationship with Jesus. A new course begins in February.

Flourish Conference (for Grove leaders)

  • This is for any who are in leadership at The Grove (small group leaders, kids leaders, youth leaders, worship leaders, venue coordinators, property and leadership teams, ministry leaders...etc)
  • An opportunity to be inspired in our influence for God in 2011, to discover where God is leading us as a church this year, and to discuss our leadership values at The Grove. Of course there will also be a delicious afternoon tea!
  • Sunday February 13, 3.00-5.00pm at Marty and Leanne's

Kids Hope

Kids Hope is a World Vision sponsored ministry aimed at creating a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable Australian children and their families. It is a mentoring program built on a long-term partnership between local churches and primary schools, where a caring adult from the church spends one hour each week with a child. The idea is simple but the results have proven to change lives. The Grove is looking forward to partnering with Ferny Grove Primary in 2011. Thea Isles is our coordinator and is running an information session following church on January 23. Mentor training is from 9am-1pm on Saturday Jan 29.
